The Oconomowoc Historical Society has the following books and items for sale at the Museum and local merchants.

Doorways of Oconomowoc features photographs of 22 of Oconomowoc's most notable and fascinating entrances, with most built during Oconomowoc's golden era. This collection highlights the grandeur and history of architectural finery that contributes to the essence of what Oconomowoc has been and continues to be. Jean Lindsay Johnson wrote of the history of Oconomowoc from the early Indian fur traders days to the families which made Oconomowoc the historic city we have learned to love.  This book has been reproduced by the Historical Society in 2004.  This is a great reference book about the city and surrounding communities.  Enjoy the author's stories of the early hotel owners, brewery owners, business owners, and the settlers of this fine community.

This book contains the journals of David Wilson Small, an attorney who recorded the early life in Oconomowoc from 1871 to 1899.  Small was District Attorney for Waukesha County and business owner.  This book gives the reader a true understanding what it was like living during the mid to late 1880's.

Henry Shufeldt (1830-1906) made his fortune as a Chicago distiller.  In 1867 he built his summer home on Lac La Belle and named it the "Anchorage".  At the end of a long pathway, at the waters edge, stood a large iron elk watching over his estate.

Mildred E. Babich, Robert J. Higgins, and David L. Smith authored this book on the history of the Town of Oconomowoc.  This book was produced for the Town's Sesquicentennial celebration in 1995.  This book spans the history of the Town from 1844 through 1994.  This book covers the schools, business, families, resorts, and interesting stories of Okauchee Lake.

Did you ever know who was the founder of Oconomowoc?  This booklet compiled by Ruth W. Behling answers that question.  The founder was John Rockwell,  born in 1810 and moved to Milwaukee from New York in 1837 and eventually made Oconomowoc his home.  This booklet is offered through the Oconomowoc Historical Society for $2.50.

This booklet is currently being printed.  This booklet will contain 14 letters written by Lavinia Hurd Rockwell and John S Rockwell to their parents in New York.  These letters talk of life in Oconomowoc in 1842 through 1848.  This booklet is sponsored by First Bank Financial Centre.

This DVD was produced by Terry Kaldhusdal (Wisconsin 2007 teacher of the year) for the Historical Society.  The DVD gives the viewer a visual history of early Oconomowoc.  This wonderful DVD contains interviews from some of Oconomowoc's finest residents talking about the early settlers and the growth of Oconomowoc.
