This page is still under serious thought before construction. Thanks!
While we are thinking about what would be fun, here are some songs which made
Oconomowoc famous (we think).
This song is the Draper Hall
Hall March, written by Milwaukeean Charles Orth in 1894, in honor of the Draper
Hotel owner, Charles B. Draper. 4,000
copies were sold to dancing schools across the country. It may take a few minutes to down load, but it is
worth the wait. The file will play great with Windows Media Player.

Hall March.

The Historical
Society is working to bring you the "I Went
for a Walk in Oconomowoc" in the very near future.
What does the word "Oconomowoc" mean? Click on this
link Coo-No-Mo-Wauk to hear
an excerpt from our the DVD which was produced by Terry Kaldhusdal for the Historical
Society. The DVD gives the viewer a visual history of early Oconomowoc.
Have you ever heard of the Cooney Waltz? This waltz was composed in
1868 by Jas. Sargent Smith for the Young Ladies of the Oconomowoc Episcopal
Seminary. This is a very large file, 32 meg. A high speed internet
connecting is recommended. This waltz is played by Debbie Bergson, a very
talented local musician from Oconomowoc. Click here Cooney
Waltz and enjoy. You may want to right click on the link and save the
file to your desktop and play it from there.
